In the early morning hours of September 28, 2009, a call reporting a shooting brought Denver police officers to the 2500 block of East 40th Avenue. There, in a parking lot, they discovered the body of 53-year-old Barbara Irish. Paramedics arrived at the scene but were unable to save her, pronouncing her dead from an apparent gunshot wound. An autopsy later confirmed that the cause of death was complications from a penetrating gunshot wound to the head, and the manner of death was officially rule ...
