In the middle of a quiet suburban Denver night on August 5, 2020, a devastating fire engulfed a home, claiming the lives of five members of a Senegalese family, including 6-month-old Hawa Baye. The female infant, along with Djibril Diol, 29, Adja Diol, 23, their 22-month-old daughter Khadija Diol, and Hassan Diol, 25, perished in the blaze that was intentionally set. Three other occupants of the house managed to escape by jumping from a second-story window.
