In the late hours of a Friday night in Aurora, Colorado, the life of Tamoi Millan Elliott, a 25-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On March 23, 2012, at approximately 11:56 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night at the intersection of North Dayton Street and Montview Boulevard. When police arrived, they discovered Elliott inside a vehicle, suffering from gunshot wounds to his torso.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
The investigation into the shooting revealed that two individuals in a distinctive two-tone Chevrolet or GMC Suburban from the 1990s were involved. The vehicle was described as having a dark-colored top and bottom with lighter-colored sides. The driver was a dark-skinned Black man, estimated to be between 18 and 25 years old. He was seen wearing a blue or gray short-sleeve shirt or a gray tank top, along with a white baseball cap. The passenger was described as a heavyset Black man in his 20s with a goatee but no mustache, wearing a blue shirt and a blue baseball cap.
Despite the detailed descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle, no arrests have ever been made in connection with the murder of Tamoi Millan Elliott. The Aurora Police Department has continued to seek information from the public, offering a significant reward for any tips that could lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. The case remains an unsolved homicide, leaving a family and community still searching for answers and justice for a life taken too soon.
