On the morning of June 11, 2012, the start of a typical workday in Commerce City, Colorado, took a grim turn. Employees arriving at a business located at 5001 E. 52nd Avenue noticed what they initially believed to be a transient man sleeping behind the building. As they moved closer, the stark reality of the situation became apparent with the sight of blood, prompting an immediate call to 911.
