In the evening hours of October 27, 2021, in Commerce City, Colorado, a burst of gunfire shattered the night, leaving two young men fatally wounded. One of the victims was 19-year-old Erik Sarmiento Rodriguez, a Hispanic male. The incident unfolded around 9 p.m. in a parking lot located in the 4800 block of East 62nd Avenue, near Vasquez Boulevard. When police arrived, they found one man already deceased at the scene, later identified as 20-year-old Luis Arzate Solis. Erik was critically injured ...
