Malcolm Watson, a 28-year-old resident of Commerce City, Colorado, was fatally shot on August 10, 2024, during his son's birthday party. The incident occurred in the parking lot of Pioneer Park, near Holly Street and East 60th Avenue. Watson was attending the celebration at the water park when he was approached and shot in the head at close range by Lumumba Sayers, a 46-year-old former MMA fighter and anti-gun violence activist.
