In the early hours of a spring day in Colorado Springs, the life of 26-year-old Christopher R. Jackson was tragically cut short. On March 8, 2014, Jackson, a student at Pikes Peak Community College, was fatally shot in an incident that also claimed the life of another man, 28-year-old Demetrius V. Edwards. The shooting unfolded in a vehicle, leaving a scene that would soon draw the attention of law enforcement.
Responding to reports of gunfire, Colorado Springs police discovered the two
men inside a car. Both Jackson and Edwards had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The initial investigation pointed to a third individual who was also in the vehicle at the time of the shootings. This individual was quickly identified as the suspect in the double homicide.
Authorities apprehended Marcus Anderson, who was 26 at the time, in connection with the deaths of Jackson and Edwards. The investigation suggested that a dispute had erupted among the three men inside the car, escalating to the fatal shooting. Anderson was subsequently arrested and faced charges for the murders of the two men.
Following his arrest, Marcus Anderson was put on trial for the deaths of Christopher Jackson and Demetrius Edwards.
