In the late summer of 2018, the life of 18-year-old Jordan Anthony Coleman was tragically cut short in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Known affectionately as 'Texas,' he was a young man with a passion for art, particularly drawing and tattoos. He had a deep love for the mountains and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Those who knew him described him as fiercely loyal to his family and a protector of those in need, a young man with a smile that could light up a room.

August 29, 2018, a dispute in a parking lot on the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus escalated to violence. The altercation, which reportedly stemmed from a running argument, ended in gunfire. Jordan was shot and tragically succumbed to his injuries. His sudden and violent death left his family, including his mother, father, and numerous siblings, devastated and seeking justice.
The investigation into the shooting led Colorado Springs Police to identify a suspect. Shortly after the incident, an arrest was made in connection with Jordan's death.
