In the quiet early morning hours of April 1, 2015, a sense of unease settled over a residential neighborhood in Aurora, Colorado. Inside a home on East Mercer Drive, an altercation between two men who knew each other was escalating with deadly consequences. Clifford Eugene Wilson Jr., a 33-year-old Black man, was shot multiple times. Responding officers found him gravely wounded, and he was rushed to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
