In the late afternoon of April 21, 2017, the life of 19-year-old Zeandre Davonne Beverly, a Black male, was tragically cut short in an act of violence that continues to await resolution. Emergency services in Aurora, Colorado, received a report of a shooting at approximately 3:59 p.m. and were dispatched to a garden-level apartment located at 11320 East 16th Avenue.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a grim scene inside the residence.
Zeandre was found lying unresponsive on the floor of the living room, suffering from a single, fatal gunshot wound to his neck. Paramedics quickly transported him to University Hospital in a desperate attempt to save his life, but his injury proved too severe.
The investigation into the homicide was initiated by the Aurora Police Department, but the circumstances surrounding the shooting grew cold. To date, there has been no public information released regarding any potential suspects or persons of interest in the death of Zeandre Beverly. No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the case remains an unsolved homicide, leaving a family without answers and a community with an open wound.
