In the early summer of 2015, the body of a 51-year-old male from Denver, Antonio Alvarado Ruiz, was discovered in a desolate field in Aurora, Colorado. On the evening of June 3rd, police responded to a call about a body found in the 2600 block of North Monaghan Road. The subsequent investigation by the Aurora Police Department's Major Crime/Homicide Unit determined that Ruiz had died from a gunshot wound, turning the case into a homicide investigation.
