In an alley in Aurora, Colorado, a dispute over a small sum of money led to the tragic death of 44-year-old Terrance G. Davis in August of 2017. The male victim was found shot in an alley situated between Boston and Chester streets, near Colfax Avenue. The investigation into his death quickly pointed to one individual, an admitted gang member named Jacob Shockey.
The motive behind the fatal shooting was determined to be a mere twenty dollars that Davis owed to Shockey.
This debt provoked an angry and violent response from Shockey, who shot Davis three times, ending his life over the trivial amount of money. The act demonstrated a shocking disregard for the value of human life and left a community to grapple with the senselessness of the violence.
Following the incident, law enforcement identified Jacob Shockey, who was 28 at the time, as the primary suspect. The investigation proceeded, and Shockey was ultimately arrested and charged with the murder.
