In the crisp autumn air of Halloween morning in 2015, the life of Jennifer Michelle Vasquez, a 42-year-old female, was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence in her native Colorado Springs. Remembered as a vibrant and loving mother to her two daughters, Andrea and Briana Martinez, Jennifer was a woman deeply rooted in her community and her faith. She found joy in simple pleasures like cooking and spending cherished moments with her family.

On that fateful Saturday, October 31, 2015, a gunman, identified as 33-year-old Noah Harpham, embarked on a shooting rampage through a quiet Colorado Springs neighborhood. Before encountering Jennifer, Harpham had already shot and killed a bicyclist. He then made his way to the porch of a sober living home where Jennifer was with another woman, Christina Rose Baccus-Gallela. Without warning, Harpham opened fire, fatally shooting both women. The violent spree continued as he fired upon responding police officers.
The ensuing gun battle between Harpham and law enforcement brought the morning's terror to a close. Four officers returned fire, and Harpham was killed at the scene. In the aftermath of the tragedy, the community mourned the loss of the three innocent lives taken. Friends and family of Jennifer remembered her as an outgoing and friendly person, always ready with a warm greeting.
