In what should have been a time for family and togetherness, the day before Thanksgiving in 2016 turned into a scene of terror and tragedy in the quiet community of Security-Widefield, just outside of Colorado Springs. Karyn Lorbiecki, a 45-year-old mother of two, found her life cut short in a violent encounter that unfolded within the walls of her own home.
