On a tragic Mother's Day morning in Colorado Springs, a day that should have been filled with familial warmth and celebration, 52-year-old Joana Cruz was senselessly murdered. The horrific events unfolded at a birthday party held at a mobile home on Preakness Way, where friends and family had gathered together. The festive atmosphere was shattered when a gunman, later identified as 28-year-old Teodoro Macias, entered the residence and opened fire on the unsuspecting attendees.
