In the quiet community of Centennial, Colorado, a suburb of Denver, the life of 32-year-old Justin Lee Doe was tragically cut short on March 22, 2017. A man known for his infectious enthusiasm for life and his deep love for the outdoors, Justin was fatally shot outside of his workplace, an electrical supply business named QED where he served as the operations manager.
He had recently relocated to help open the Centennial location after more than a decade with the company.
Justin, who was born on June 28, 1984, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel like a friend. His laughter was contagious, and he was known for his goofy antics to bring a smile to anyone's face. An avid adventurer, he found joy in hiking, cliff diving, rock climbing, and fishing. He was rarely seen without his beloved dog, Maxx, who was a constant companion on his many adventures and even at his workplace. Those who knew him said he always had their back and was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends.
The investigation into Justin's death led to the identification of a suspect, Nicholas Locascio, who was 29 years old at the time. Friends of Justin stated that there was no known connection between him and the alleged gunman, describing the act as a senseless tragedy. In the wake of his death, friends and family remembered a man who had so much more to offer the world. To honor his love for nature, his ashes were to be mixed with the seeds of an Aspen tree, allowing him to live on through the beauty of the outdoors he so cherished.
