In a tragic turn of events stemming from a domestic dispute, 37-year-old Roosevelt Devon Williams, a male, lost his life. The incident unfolded on a Friday night at the Richfield Apartments on East Adriatic Drive in Aurora, Colorado.
Earlier that evening, Williams had been involved in a domestic dispute with his partner, Laneidra Williams-Whitehead, 45. Later that night, at approximately 10:15 p.m., a downstairs neighbor heard a commotion in Williams's apartment.
Upon investigating, the neighbor discovered that Williams had been shot and immediately called for help. First responders arrived and provided life-saving aid before transporting Williams to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following morning.
An investigation by the Aurora Police Department led to the swift arrest of two suspects the next day: Laneidra Williams-Whitehead and her 24-year-old son, Jamir Williams. According to police reports, after the initial dispute, Williams-Whitehead's son, Jamir, arrived at the apartment complex and confronted Roosevelt Devon Williams. During this confrontation, Jamir Williams allegedly produced a handgun and shot Williams. Both Laneidra Williams-Whitehead and Jamir Williams were taken into custody and face charges of first-degree murder. The case is set to be heard in the 18th Judicial District.
