In the early morning hours of April 25, 2021, the life of 34-year-old Quatrel Weeden, a Black male from Colorado Springs, was tragically cut short. At approximately 3:16 A.M., officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched to the 2100 block of Delta Drive following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Mr. Weeden deceased at the scene, having sustained an apparent gunshot wound.
Detectives from the Homicide/Assault Unit promptly took over the investigation into what was being treated as a homicide. The following day, on April 26, 2021, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death. Mr. Weeden's death marked the ninth homicide investigation in the city of Colorado Springs for that year.
Despite the ongoing efforts of law enforcement, there have been no arrests made in connection with the murder of Quatrel Weeden. Investigators have not publicly identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case. The Colorado Springs Police Department continues to actively investigate the circumstances surrounding his death and has urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in bringing closure to his family and the community. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation.
