On November 14, 2021, 15-year-old Anthony Darnell "Chico" Golden Jr. was fatally shot in Denver's Montbello neighborhood. Officers responded to the 15500 block of East 53rd Avenue around 8:32 p.m., discovering Chico with serious injuries. He was transported to Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that evening.
