In the winter of 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a man named Gerard Dubois, aged 34, tragically lost his life. His death, which occurred on December 28, 2021, was the result of a violent altercation with his roommate. Police were called to a residence in the 3800 block of Pearl Drive, where they discovered the bodies of two men.

The investigation that followed revealed a grim sequence of events. Authorities determined that an argument had taken place between Dubois and his 34-year-old roommate, Tory Quinn. The dispute escalated to the point where shots were fired. Following the initial confrontation, a third roommate discovered the bodies of both Dubois and Quinn inside the home and alerted the police.

The El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted autopsies which clarified the nature of the tragedy. Gerard Dubois's death was officially ruled a homicide. Conversely, Tory Quinn's death was determined to be a suicide. Based on these findings, investigators concluded that Quinn was the suspect in Dubois's death, having shot and killed him before taking his own life. As the sole suspect died at the scene, no arrests were made in connection with the homicide. The case was classified as a murder-suicide, and police stated that no other individuals were believed to be involved.
