In the autumn of 2022, a quiet Sunday evening in Colorado Springs was shattered by violence, leading to the death of a local man. On the night of October 2, 2022, police were called to the 4200 block of Galley Road around 9:54 PM after reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered a male individual who was already deceased.
The victim was later identified as 45-year-old Antonio Jimenez-Garibay, a resident of Colorado Springs.
Following an autopsy conducted by the El Paso County Coroner's Office on October 4, 2022, his death was officially investigated as a homicide. The investigation into the circumstances of his death was taken over by detectives from the Violent Crimes Unit.
At the time of the initial reports in October 2022, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting death of Mr. Jimenez-Garibay.
