In the early hours of June 1, 2022, the life of 19-year-old Hoani Bartlett of Castle Rock, Colorado, was tragically cut short. The male victim was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs from a gunshot wound.
The events leading to his death began to unfold at approximately 12:57 a.m. when officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department were dispatched to the hospital regarding a patient with a gunshot wound.
Upon their arrival, they learned that the shooting had taken place in the 4400 block of Burton Way. Despite medical efforts, Bartlett succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, the El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy and officially ruled Bartlett's death a homicide. The investigation was handed over to the CSPD Violent Crimes Homicide/Assault Unit. This case marked the 23rd homicide investigation in the city of Colorado Springs for 2022.
