In a tragic event that unfolded in Fort Collins, Colorado, eight-year-old Cameron Lynn Zipperer, and her six-year-old sister, Audrey Jane Zipperer, were found deceased on Saturday, December 3, 2022. The two children were discovered in a home located on the 3500 block of Stratton Drive. Both Cameron and Audrey were students at Timnath Elementary School in the Poudre School District.
The girls were victims of a murder-suicide perpetrated by their father, 36-year-old Adam Zipperer.
Authorities determined that Adam Zipperer fatally shot both of his children before taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The Larimer County coroner confirmed that both Cameron and Audrey died from gunshot wounds. Police responded to a call on that Saturday morning, leading to the discovery of the three bodies.
In the wake of this devastating event, the girls' mother, Erica Bethel, described the incident not as an accident, but as a 'deliberate act of violence.' A GoFundMe campaign was established to assist with funeral expenses, and the organizers described the sisters as 'two angels' with 'bright smiles, caring hearts and love for others.' A private candlelight vigil was held at Timnath Presbyterian Church to honor the memory of the two young girls.
