In the summer of 2014, a quiet, dead-end road in southwest Fort Collins became the scene of a tragic event that claimed the life of 26-year-old Brandon Kapperman. The incident, which unfolded on Thompson Drive, also involved his 73-year-old grandfather, Gene Kapperman.
Authorities were called to the elder Kapperman's home after a woman reported that her husband had shot a family member before turning the gun on himself. Upon arrival, police found both Brandon and his grandfather deceased.
