On a summer evening in 2002, the life of 29-year-old Shawna Renee Devine, a Black female, was tragically cut short in Brockton, Massachusetts. On July 22nd, Devine was caught in the crossfire of a shooting and sustained fatal injuries. The incident was a result of gun violence, a stark reminder of the devastating impact such acts can have on a community.
