In the late hours of a Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a dispute between two women at a gas station escalated into a fatal encounter. The altercation, which took place on June 1, 2024, in the parking lot of a Shell station on Crescent Ridge Road Northeast, resulted in the death of 46-year-old Lashonda Leigh Street.
Authorities from the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene around 10:40 p.m.
following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered two women with gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Tragically, Lashonda Leigh Street succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the shooting, led by the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, swiftly identified the other woman involved as 43-year-old Rosanna Latrice Wilson. Investigators determined through witness interviews and a review of video footage that an argument between Street and Wilson had preceded the gunfire. It is believed that both women shot each other during the confrontation. Wilson sustained minor injuries in the exchange.
Following a consultation with the District Attorney's Office, Rosanna Latrice Wilson was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the death of Lashonda Leigh Street. She was subsequently booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and is being held without bond.
