On January 15, 2023, 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris was fatally shot in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Harris, a Birmingham resident, had traveled to Tuscaloosa with her boyfriend to visit her cousin, a student at the University of Alabama.
