On the night of July 4, 2015, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, a burst of gunfire shattered the holiday celebrations, leaving a community shaken and a family grieving. Ronald Pinel, a 25-year-old Black/African American man, was fatally wounded in the chaos that erupted in a vacant lot on Linden Street.
