On the evening of January 13, 2017, Hanky Z. Betancourt, a 29-year-old male, was fatally shot outside his residence on Chestnut Street in Lynn, Massachusetts. The incident occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. and was one of several shootings that took place in the city over that weekend, creating a sense of unease within the community.
