In the city of Brockton, Massachusetts, on the evening of November 3, 2021, the life of 28-year-old Nelito Nathan Lopes was tragically cut short. Born in Santiago, Cabo Verde, Lopes was a male resident of Brockton. That Wednesday evening, around 7 p.m., police responded to the area of Prospect and Walnut Streets after reports of a car crash. Upon arrival, they discovered a Honda Civic that had collided with a utility pole.
Behind the wheel was Nelito Lopes, suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.
Emergency responders acted quickly, transporting Lopes to a local hospital. From there, he was airlifted to a hospital in Boston for more advanced medical care.
