On the evening of October 7, 2021, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a Brockton, Massachusetts neighborhood, leaving a 28-year-old Black / African American man, Christopher Gomes, dead from a gunshot wound. The tragic events began to unfold at approximately 5:45 p.m. when Gomes drove a silver SUV into the driveway of a residence on Taber Avenue.
