On a cold December morning in 2004, the body of 41-year-old Scott McKean was discovered at the edge of a parking lot behind a laundromat on North Kerry Street in Brockton, Massachusetts. He had been killed by a gunshot wound to the chest. While people in the area had reportedly heard gunshots the previous night, police were not called to the scene until McKean's body was found.
