In the early hours of Memorial Day, May 28, 2018, the quiet of a Brockton, Massachusetts condominium complex was shattered by gunfire. Responding to reports of shots fired at the Madrid Square Condos shortly before 12:30 a.m., police discovered a grim scene. Two men had been shot. One of them, 31-year-old Jamari Leblanc, a Black/African American male, was pronounced dead at the scene.
