In the early morning hours of August 9, 2014, the life of 28-year-old Black/African American male Quentin Phillips was tragically cut short in a fatal shooting in Brockton, Massachusetts. The incident unfolded in the parking lot behind Joe Angelo's Bar on Crescent Street, where Phillips, a resident of Mattapan, had been a patron earlier in the evening.
