On January 30, 2008, 20-year-old Nathaniel Taylor, a Black male from Oakland, California, was fatally shot in the 1400 block of 77th Avenue. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., and responding officers found Taylor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
