In the early morning hours of Sunday, June 17, 2018, the life of 30-year-old Barak Rosen, a White/Caucasian male, was tragically cut short in Portland, Oregon. Having moved to the city only six months prior, he was found deceased on the track at Grant High School. An autopsy would later confirm that he had been shot multiple times. The shooting is believed to have occurred late on the night of June 16, 2018, around 11:30 p.m., though his body was not discovered until just before 5 a.m.
the following day.
Barak was described by his family as a kind and hardworking individual who had a passion for the outdoors and playing the electric guitar. His family, devastated by the loss, made public pleas for any information that could lead to the capture of the person or persons responsible. They spoke of the immense grief and pain his unsolved murder has caused them, with his sister expressing the heartbreak of knowing he was left to die alone.
Despite the ongoing investigation by the Portland Police Bureau, no arrests have been made in connection with Barak Rosen's murder. Authorities have not identified any suspects and have stated that a motive for the killing remains unknown. A cash reward of up to $2,500 was offered by Crime Stoppers of Oregon for information leading to an arrest in the case.
