Brandon M. Miles, a 29-year-old male, was fatally shot on December 6, 2015, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the South Austin neighborhood, which has struggled for years with persistent levels of gun violence. Brandon was shot while walking on a residential street late at night. Despite the swift response of emergency services, he was pronounced dead shortly after being transported to a nearby hospital.
