On December 27, 2023, a tragic incident occurred in Chicago, Illinois, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Curley Hornes. Hornes fell victim to gun violence, adding to the somber statistics of firearms-related fatalities in the city.
The shooting took place in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago's West Side. Hornes was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
