On May 3, 2025, 24-year-old African American male Allante Harrison was fatally shot during an altercation in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. in the 5000 block of West Quincy Street. According to Chicago police, Harrison was walking on the sidewalk when he was approached by a male suspect, leading to a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation.
