On August 9, 2021, a tragic incident occurred in the 37000 block of Highway 58 in Pleasant Hill, Oregon, resulting in the death of Caelen Ann Bosisto, a 30-year-old woman. Lane County Sheriff's deputies and Oregon State Troopers responded to a residence at around 6:30 a.m. following a report of a homicide. Upon arrival, they found Caelen Ann Bosisto deceased due to homicidal violence, with the Lane County Medical Examiner later determining that her cause of death was a gunshot wound to the
chest.
In addition to Caelen's death, her husband, Staton Ryan Bosisto, was also found at the scene with serious injuries caused by a gunshot wound to the head. He was transported from the scene for medical treatment.
The investigation led to the identification and arrest of Andrew Paul Geronimi, who was 34 years old at the time. Geronimi was located in the brush nearby the home, armed with a handgun. He was arrested on the same day as the incident and subsequently indicted by the Lane County Grand Jury for multiple charges related to the event. These charges included Murder in the First Degree, Attempted Murder, and Burglary in the First Degree.
Geronimi's arrest and subsequent indictment were based on evidence linking him to the crimes. Despite there being no known connections between Geronimi and the victims, the investigation and court documents clearly implicated him in the shooting and killing of Caelen Ann Bosisto and the injury of her husband, Staton Ryan Bosisto.
On April 14, 2023, Andrew Paul Geronimi appeared in Lane County Circuit Court before Judge Charles M. Zennache and entered guilty pleas to several charges. These included Murder in the First Degree for the death of Caelen Ann Bosisto, Assault in the First Degree for the injuries to Staton Ryan Bosisto, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree for the attack on Staton Ryan Bosisto, and Burglary in the First Degree. Geronimi faces life in prison on the charge of Murder in the First Degree, with sentencing scheduled for April 28, 2023.
Geronimi's past also revealed other serious allegations, including an incident where he was accused of holding a woman hostage in Michigan, further highlighting his history of violent behavior. However, the primary focus remained on the charges related to the Pleasant Hill incident, which resulted in the tragic loss of Caelen Ann Bosisto's life and the severe injury of her husband.
