In the early morning hours of August 22, 2021, a burst of violence inside a Portland nightclub claimed the life of 25-year-old JaMarie Herring Sr., a Black male. The fatal shooting occurred at 1:48 a.m. inside the Mingle Lounge located in the 300 block of Northwest Everett Street in Old Town.
