On a March day in 2018, the quiet waterfront of Orange Beach, Alabama, was disturbed by a grim discovery. The body of 53-year-old Raymond Curtis Dudley, a white male, was found near a canoe launch on Wolf Bay. An investigation by the Orange Beach Police Department soon revealed that Dudley, who was homeless and originally from Massachusetts, had been the victim of a homicide, having sustained at least one gunshot wound.
