Deputy U.S. Marshal Derek William Hotsinpiller, aged 24, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on February 16, 2011. The incident occurred in Elkins, West Virginia, where Hotsinpiller and two other deputy marshals, along with members of the West Virginia State Police, were serving a warrant at a residence on Central Street.
