In the spring of 2018, the life of 19-year-old Steven Parker Weekley, a White male, was cut short in Huntington, West Virginia. On May 9, 2018, the young man died from a gunshot wound. At the time of the incident, police reported that the injury was believed to be an accidental, self-inflicted wound. This initial account suggested a tragic accident rather than a criminal act.
