Lawrence Sykes, a 57-year-old Black/African American man from Huntington, West Virginia, was fatally shot on the afternoon of February 4, 2016, inside an apartment in the Marcum Terrace housing complex. Huntington police were called to the 1300 block of Marcum Terrace at about 3:20 p.m. after reports of gunfire. Officers found Sykes suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
