On a late spring day in Bluefield, West Virginia, the life of Tony Tyrone Greene, a 46-year-old Black / African American man also known as TT, was brought to a sudden and violent end. On May 30, 2022, Greene became a victim of gun violence, a tragedy that would leave the community seeking answers and justice.
In the immediate aftermath of the fatal shooting, the Bluefield Police Department launched an investigation into Greene's death.
The search for a suspect did not last long, as an individual soon surrendered to the authorities in connection with the incident. While the surrender of a suspect brought a measure of progress to the case, the community was left to grapple with the loss of a life.
Following his untimely death, arrangements were made to honor Tony Tyrone Greene's memory. His funeral service was held at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Bluefield, Virginia, providing a space for family and friends to gather and mourn. He was later laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Garden in Bluefield. The investigation into his death continues as the legal process moves forward.
