In the spring of 1984, a grim discovery was made in a wooded area overlooking the Mississippi River, just a couple of miles south of Montrose, Iowa. On Sunday, May 13th, the body of 36-year-old Arthur Leon Ransford was found, bringing a sad end to a nearly six-month search for the missing man. A Vietnam veteran and a father of two, Ransford had vanished from his home in Keokuk, Iowa, the previous year. His wife had reported him missing on Thanksgiving Day, Tuesday, November 22, 1983.
