On the evening of September 5, 2015, the life of 38-year-old Fred Mustain, a Caucasian male, came to a tragic end in Murray, Utah. Mustain was discovered at a construction site located at 527 E. Vine Street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. A passerby on a bicycle heard his cries for help around 9:20 p.m. and quickly alerted the authorities.
Emergency services transported Mustain to Intermountain Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of the following morning.
At the outset of the investigation, police had no immediate suspects or a clear motive for the shooting. The case remained cold for several years, leaving his family, including his partner and son, without answers. Described as a good man, his loved ones expressed their devastation and hope that justice would eventually be served.
