On the evening of Halloween in 2018, a burst of gunfire shattered the night on Maplewood Avenue in Bridgeport, Connecticut, forever altering the lives of two families. David Belle, a 28-year-old Black man, was standing outside a barbershop he was planning to open when the shooting occurred. Alongside him was 41-year-old Myoshi Bagley, a hairstylist who was going to work with him. In the sudden violence that erupted, both were struck by bullets.
