On the evening of June 14, 2021, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, the life of 39-year-old Shamar Swinton, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire. Around 7:41 p.m., the sounds of shots fired in the 800 block of State Street prompted calls to the Bridgeport Police Department.
